Lawrence was certainly a strange place and Ruby was trying to adjust. She was pretty good at it for not ever having left Storybrooke before. But she wasn't as put together as she was seeming when she talked to people. They just offered her distraction from what she had seen when she had shown up. Kathryn's body. She was alive. Which was good. Except for the part where she had found her heart in a box. It didn't make sense. How did someone lose their heart but survive? She tried not to think about it. Because it made no sense and somehow she wasn't in Storybrooke anymore so the twenty year old just had to deal with it. And at least Emma and Henry were here so she wasn't completely alone. Ruby was definitely thankful for that.
Still, there were things she hadn't told them. Emma wasn't sheriff yet, so she didn't know about what happened to Kathryn. And she didn't want to ask Henry what he remembered... Mostly what she remembered. Though, how Emma hadn't seemed phased by the sheriff comment when she first showed up... though there was elections that had happened, maybe she was from then. Or they were fictional and it just hadn't come up and Ruby hadn't asked as she was still trying to wrap her head around this place. The dreams. Now it was the dreams that made no sense to her. Because it was like she was living this life. It was her, but it wasn't. A red riding hood.
"Clearly you've been talking to Henry too much..."
The comment was mused to herself as the brunette walked down the street of downtown Lawrence. Because Henry had his fairytale obsession and well, they DID have Belle and Ariel here from Disney movies. And superheroes. So dreaming herself to be a fairytale character from one of Henry's stories? It wasn't so far fetched. It was just strange how real the dreams felt. And the day had just felt... odd. There was an anxiousness to her movements, this constant need to move. And hungry. She was really hungry and didn't exactly have money to buy food. So beyond making a basket of food at the complex and heading to the park, Ruby was on her own. Not that anything had seemed appetizing. For some unknown reason she wanted a steak. Raw. Which was gross but that was what she wanted. And she'd have had to have sex to be pregnant so it wasn't that.
With the sky darkening, Ruby had started back to the complex when everything went black. She'd been in the park still, her basket dropping. There was pain and then darkness.
Now the wolf. The wolf was hungry and it had been so long imprisoned by the curse. It wanted to run, to eat. It wanted control again. Even though it was the day of the full moon, and not the days around for wolfstime. This was what it wanted, the freedom. So it ran and there was a scent in the air, blood. It didn't know the food source, didn't care, it just wanted to eat. But something hit it and there was another food source at hand. The blood was good. The hunger not sated but on its way to be. Or it should have been, but this wasn't the wolf's home. This place had strange devices, loud chaotic machines, bright lights. Worse than the villagers. Growling as something sped by, the wolf ran, in search of trees and grass and more food.
