Lois was having a pretty good day and was currently on her own little version of Cloud 9. Not only had she succeeded in her own personal mission to get Dick out and have a little fun, but the social event hadn't been anywhere near awkward like she'd worried it would be after the whole 'marriage' conversation that she'd had with Clark. She still wasn't too sure what was going on between them and if she was honest with herself, Lois knew she wasn't in any hurry to try and define anything. All of her relationships seemed to have fallen apart on her and while she would always have Chloe and her friendship with Oliver had definitely grown stronger, she didn't want to rush into whatever was happening with Clark in case it all fell apart. Which was why she was pleased laser tag had been so enjoyable for all three of them even if it had ended with them banned from ever returning. It had been worth it for the look on the Dick's face as they had been kicked out.
Her smile faltered as she exited the stairwell and caught sight of Oliver sitting down in front of her apartment door. She could tell that something awful must have happened by the way he sat, but she ran through a million scenarios in her mind as she approached him. "Ollie?" she called out softly, not wanting to startle him.
There was only one thing that Lois could think of that would cause him to be sitting in front of her apartment door like he was, but she refused to believe the dark thoughts running through her head. It had to be something else, anything else. It just had to.
