WHO: Lois and Kon
WHAT: bonding time
WHEN: this afternoon
WHERE: a mall in Lawrence
RATING: PGish
Clothes shopping for teenage boys was the most daunting task Lois Lane had ever encountered. She’d faced down bombs, bullets, criminal masterminds, but it was the utter lack of enthusiasm over buying brand new shirts that Kon had displayed while in the stores that was going to drive her mad. Buying clothes was supposed to be a relaxing experience, it was supposed to be exciting, fun, not cause her to want to pull her hair out every few minutes. Not that she didn’t think Kon wasn’t trying, but it was obvious from his bored exterior that he would really rather be anywhere besides the store they were in.
After thirty minutes and only one bag of clothes purchased, Lois had given up and decided it was time for them to get lunch and for her to get an extra large coffee. “Pizza sound good?” she asked, steering him toward the food court. She was pretty sure there had been a pizza place beside the coffee stand. Everyone liked pizza, didn’t they? She really hoped he liked pizza because she’d had Chinese for lunch and that seemed to be the only other item available for purchase.
She offered him a smile, shifting the bag between her hands, and hoped the excruciating part of trying on different clothes hadn’t caused his opinion of her to plummet into a complete downward spiral. This was supposed to be an opportunity to try and get to know Kon better and Lois had a feeling she’d already blown it completely with her choice in activity. She knew she should have picked the ‘surfing’ option.
“And I’m buying, so get whatever you want. Drinks and all.”
