"You're welcome." He returned the smile without hesitation, taking another sip of the wine, and watching her intently. Despite the fact he'd been wary of her when she'd first arrived, he couldn't help but feel glad now that she was. Especially knowing what the apparent alternative was. He swallowed hard, dropping his gaze momentarily.
"Yeah, I have to say I haven't really missed that part," he admitted with a small, faint smile. He took the plate from her when she held it out. "Thanks." He moved to the dining room table, setting his plate and glass down, and waiting for her to do the same before sitting down.
