"Thanks," he said, glancing around as he stepped inside. Usually when they had dinner they either went out, or just ate at Watchtower. "You've done a nice job with the place." It didn't look anything like the Luthor mansion where she'd been staying in his time. Gone were the reds and purples, replaced by more neutral beige and ivory, hints of other colors in the curtains and on the pillows. It was much more like the old Tess he'd known so long ago, before she'd taken over Lex's company in his absence. He felt himself relaxing at the natural feel of the place.
"Well, I couldn't pass up a chance for a home-cooked meal," he said lightly, following her into the kitchen and sniffing. "Smells great." It had been years since he'd had anything she cooked, and his stomach growled as he eyed the pan of lasagna. "How are things going?" he questioned, gaze settling on her once more.
