Robin Hood is the Prince of Thieves ([info]robinofthehood) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
That was the last reaction he expected from his long standing enemy. He was so thrown by the gesture he almost missed the first words that he spoke. He didn't move as he took them in, for the longest time he stood there, bow still drawn, though his brow furrowed in confusion the more Gisborne said.

None of it made a bit of sense. Nine hundred years? And yet, his mind had to acknowledge Gisborne was right. He could not have managed this. How could anyone? It was impossible, and yet here they both were. The tension in the bow lessened somehwat, and he lowered it almost imperceptibly. Never did he imagine the man standing opposite him would not be an immediate threat, and yet at the moment, that was clearly the case.

And then he said her name. A single word that would never fail to capture his attention. "Marian is here?" It had not been that long since he had seen her, and yet he could not deny wanting to be in her presence again. As he ever would. But then why was she here, and why would Gisborne ever agree to bring him to her.

The bow was raised again at that thought, though he was less certain in the action. "What is this?" His tone was wary, had lost its earlier confidence. He did not understand what new game Gisborne was playing, but if he could be sure of anything, it was that this man could not be trusted. "What have you done with Marian?"
