A new land in a world she couldn't possibly understand. Well. Marian had always craved adventure, but this wasn't exactly what she'd had in mind. She merely nodded slightly, confusion written in blue-gray eyes. It was as if he was speaking in riddles, but he looked entirely at ease with it all. It made her desperately long to find Robin, to find Much or Djaq or someone who knew her, who understood her. Who understood where she was coming from.
But they weren't here, because they weren't dead. She was. This was obviously some other afterlife. Some place where she would make up for the lies she'd told, the deceptions she'd caused, the lives she'd ruined, and allow herself to step up into the place of the hero she'd always tried to be. Maybe there were poor and hungry here, too.
"I see... I'm from England," she admitted slowly. "Nottingham. There is no land called America from what I know in my studies, but we didn't spend much time learning other places outside of home. All the shires of England, yes, and France as well. We touched on Italy and Bavaria a bit as well. The rest may as well be a wasteland for all I know." It made her feel less than educated and it bothered her. But what else could she do? Maybe she could learn all of that here and now.
