Despite his efforts not to, Marian was still quite startled. She'd found herself in a world she didn't understand with people who spoke and dressed strangely. Only moments before, she'd been rushing to save the king, only to find herself murdered. No matter how strong and independent she might think herself, she was bound to be a little frightened and disoriented.
And the people...there were so many of them and they all seemed almost brainless, looking down at an object in their hands or staring into space talking to themselves. The women were dressed in trousers, something she respected but found hard to believe was so easily acceptable. Some of the men didn't seem to be wearing their trousers at all, but rather dragging them along behind them.
Her bright blue eyes were wide with fear and confusion and it took a moment before she could truly focus on the young man who had spoken. "I...yes. It does seem that way, doesn't it?" Marian bit her lip, finally letting herself take him in. A bit shabby but with a dashing sort of air to him. Not that different from Robin. And the thought of her fiance...no, her husband...made her heart give a little twist. She'd never see him again, would she?
"Am I... Is this..." How to phrase the question at hand. Because this couldn't possibly be Heaven. But would her deeds really have landed her in hell? That was almost painful to think about. Of all of Robin's men, she'd killed the least, and only out of self-defense when she had. And she certainly hadn't killed as much as... Well. Probably best not to think about that till she had time to wrap her head around it. "Is this purgatory or something?" she finally asked, not realizing that if most anyone else had approached her, she'd sound completely mental and end up in an institution somewhere. Though she might have been able to laugh it off as a joke and get away with it. She was, actually, quite good at that.
