Andrea just nodded a bit, even though he couldn't see her. Taking in what he'd said. She didn't blame him. Must have sucked just taking place in, just moving in, and being mugged on the first few nights of your arrival.
"I know." She replied. "But next time keep out of the alleys at night." Why. Why? She never understood people's fascination with alleyway and nighttime. It's like they never saw a movie of any kind in their entire life. Even comedies made fun of that ridiculous tendency. Sure certain ways were shorter but after a certain time, it just wasn't worth it.
She did catch up, keeping pace on him and bringing him where he needed to be. However, as she did so, her attention began to notice the direction they were going. She knew this city. Metropolis would always be the city of her heart but in the past few months she'd gotten very familiar with the city. She didn't know it's every nook and cranny. That would come with more time. However, she knew enough to know they were heading away from the more domestic areas. Which was all fine and dandy. And wouldn't have had that curiosity turn into suspicion if he had said on his way to work. But he'd said home, she was certain of it. "You live in a factory?" Her question was both abrupt and dry, and she was watching him. "Shouldn't we be headed in a direction that's not this one?"
