There was no doubt in his mind that Svetlana would agree with Myka's assessment that he had a different definition of hovering. The only difference was that Svetlana was used to the way he hovered, and he wasn't actively trying to completely take care of Myka. There was a difference between being a listener and between complete hovering. Anatoly was still of the belief he was operating within the listening end of the spectrum.
He could tell Myka had guilt and regret of her own. It really wasn't hard for him to see in others because he knew the signs of it. So it was obvious she needed to work through it, to come to terms with it. And he knew time was needed for that. As well as working with the source of the guilt and regret, but that would come in time whenever Myka was ready. Because that is how guilt went, it only got worked through when one was ready for it. That's how it had gone with him and Svetlana. Well, until Molokov had showed up and forced them to confront things they had to but weren't ready for. So he just hoped something similar didn't happen for Myka.
"Sometimes I do not have the best track record on being right, but I am right on this." He smiled, using his own special brand of humor in the matter, which he didn't expect Myka to get because no one really did. "Everyone has a place in this world. Sometimes it just takes time to find it." And it was also sometimes a journey of self-discovery to get there.
