He was right about it hurting everywhere, it was a bone-deep ache and he was fairly certain that he could feel all of his tendons and maybe, just maybe, all of his joints too, "Auphe." He finally ground out. The word even sounded acidic, even bitter. Cal could feel the distortion in reality, mostly due to the tightening, twisting sensation in the pit of his stomach, that would soon grow to a rip, and then a gateway, he couldn't see it yet though, and that was a good sign because it meant that Al probably couldn't see it either.
Of course this meant that Cal had to be more distracting, he managed to unclench his jaw, even despite the steadily growing burn seeming to seep everywhere, "We're the real predators." He had never, ever, considered himself one of them, but just at the moment somewhere tertiary on his list of things to worry about. He shook his head, the movement tight, "Been around since before the dawn of time." He was still half-breathless, clearly in pain, but holding onto the anger instead, letting it push everything else out.
