She was very quiet. Very still. Loki didn't particularly mind - it wasn't as if he had come here seeking conversation or company, of course, and it wasn't as if the situation did not warrant the solemn mood. It was still a bit unsettling; he did not really know Emma well enough to be certain whether the quiet was simply a normal sign of her distress, or something he should be slightly more concerned with. If Darcy or Needy were this quiet, Loki would likely have assumed that the answer he'd gotten about a lack of injuries had been a lie, after all - that something was far more wrong than an emotional wound (as if such a thing could be simple, as if a broken heart could be any less deadly than internal bleeding if left to fester).
Her words about returning the past few years to her were met with a small, wry but sympathetic smile, and nothing more. He could remove the memories of the years in question, send her back to them even though the time had still passed - but he would not. Even if she had been asking completely seriously, that would not be something he would simply do. It may take the pain of the loss, but it would also take whatever happiness she had found, erase what had made her willing to take this risk in the first place.
"I did not have to, no," he agreed, "But I wished to. You need not thank me." It wasn't as if there were anything he could actually do for her that was worth thanking him for. From here, he did not even really know what to do for her - even in a practical sort of way. He was not directly familiar with what to do for someone who was grieving like this; for the most part, that had never been something he dealt with - and her fragility as a mortal only made him more uncertain; was he supposed to suggest she eat? Make her rest properly? In Asgard - in the royal house, at least - there were servants to attend to such things, and for the most part those he had spent time with had never sunk into this level of grief before.
"A great many people have expressed concern for you. And it seems there is a new arrival here who comes from your world. He was asking after you, apparently." Perhaps hearing that would help, in some way - give her something else to think about, if nothing else. "Jo has offered you a place to stay, as well, should you prefer that to," a tiny pause, and a nod towards the room as a whole - "your current residence."
