"Maybe it is," she whispered, watching him closely then hesitating before lifting a hand to his arm, "and maybe if we go back, everything will be different and none of that will matter at all."
She was trying her best to push away the guilt she was feeling, mostly for Oliver's sake. This was obviously very hard on him, not only he felt responsible for what had happened to Jimmy, but he seemed to also feel guilty for her own guilt.
"But we might never go back," she whispered, watching him closely, "and while we can't ignore our past and it'll always be a part of who we are, it won't do us any good to keep focusing on it. This place may be our future for good."
