Marguerite never did do things in a way people thought normal. She was vivacious in a country where emotions were held in, an actress amongst aristocrats who was able to get them to enjoy themselves. Until everything had gone so very wrong. Before Percy had pulled away. Oh, the women within their social circle still had adjusted to the way Marguerite was, but by then, it was all an act for the French woman. Even in her private life, she had to be the greatest actress in Europe to survive. How had that been fair? Then again, it was probably the price she had to pay because of what she had done. For what had happened to St. Cyr and his family.
With Elphaba explaining that she had been born green, Marguerite simply nodded. So she had been correct that this was just something out of the other woman's control, so really, why judge her for it? Many would, Marguerite knew that, but she had seen what judging people on things out of their control had led to. It started the Revolution and it made the Revolution all the worse. There were rich and poor, male and female, and now apparently green skinned people and non-green skinned people. It was strange and would take some getting used to, but that didn't mean the twenty four year old would judge Elphaba on it.
"That would make sense, that it is magic that had you born as such, still, we do not choose the family we are borne into, we do not choose how we look...."
And that was all there was to it. But then she was being told about being taken to Elphaba's house and Marguerite blinked. She hadn't even noticed the time. Then again, time didn't really make sense at the moment. She'd been up for over forty eight hours at this point between waking the day of the prince's ball, to sailing to France to find Armand, to the day trying to get information, to being in jail and released to showing up here.
"Is it? I had not noticed... but if you are certain, than thank you...." After all, it would probably be best to get somewhere safe, somewhere close. Marguerite was exhausted and it was beginning to show now that the shock had worn off, the adrenaline. She had been up far too long and had suffered so much loss in that time. Would she sleep, she didn't know, but perhaps getting out of this park would be a good thing, at least for now.
