There wasn't much for Belle to say presently, it was all about learning and listening. This wasn't her time, her world, things were different so she had no idea how they worked. She wanted to learn, though. She definitely wanted to learn though. It really did sound fascinating to know that there was five hundred years of history that had happened, inventions.. Oh her papa would love that, new inventions that even he had been unable to think up. And not just inventions for a convention, but inventions that took off and were everyday objects now.
The fact that there was more tolerance now was a good thing, the chance to learn and be what she wanted to be without being shunned for being different or odd. That she could make up her own mind to be what she wanted to be. And now there were so many options available to her and the resources to do so if she stayed here. Because it was clear that there was no way back home until the Seal decided that it was done with her. She still didn't understand why it had brought her, but she now had opportunities, so she wasn't about to be upset. She just had to take this a day at a time and explore and learn.
"Really? Interesting.."
She didn't really judge it. After all, things happened all the time. Orphanages for unwanted children in Paris, daughters sent away for seemingly no reason. It was unthought of, wrong, when one was to wait for marriage to have children, but it still happened. More often in Paris and the larger cities than her own home, but it still had happened with one of the older girls when she'd been younger. There had been tears and pleading not to be sent away. Or the sudden marriages. People pretended it didn't mean anything, but they did. At least she had already read about such things. She understood the principle, at least.
"I like that... having choices." Because really, not having choices was a sad existence indeed. Now she just.. needed to figure out what she wanted to do. She wanted to learn, to go to school. But she also didn't want to sit around while a war was being fought. But maybe she could help in a way that wasn't actual fighting though she'd do so if necessary. Or at least learn to defend herself so as not to be in the way if something were to happen. Perhaps it was insanity to start trying to plan a course of action right this moment, but Belle liked to be prepared. And it kept her from worrying about home, from realizing what was going on and freaking out.
One thing was certain though, exploring definitely had to happen.
