"Are open minds rare still, then?" Because really, sometimes Belle had to wonder how people managed to get anything done with how narrow their view of the world was. But they had nothing to prove them otherwise and didn't think to imagine greater possibilities and thus exercise that chance to have an open mind. Though the comment about two sides was something to ponder. They rarely got into that in most of the books she read. There was the basic story, the issue at hand. The cause of the conflict was the bad and the resolution and heroine or hero was good and in the right. It was a simpler way to look at things and yet Belle had never been one to simply look at the surface of things and instead liked to look beneath it. See what others couldn't see or refused to see.
"That makes sense. I mean... everyone has their own motivation, right? Why we do the things we do... but there is also that pure evil you speak of, just like pure good... but I have always tried to keep an open mind so I will remember that."
Not that Belle knew who Moriarty was. Or any of the so called villains. She knew of Lucifer and she had a feeling he was the one that was innately evil and shouldn't be spoken to at all. Which made sense because, well, pure evil and wanting to wipe out humanity.
"I like that... being able to have a choice on the life you make instead of being put into some role you do not want..."
The fact that she had no idea what Disney was helped at least. She would undoubtedly be annoyed by that. Especially as she wasn't a princess. Not here or now. She was just a girl who wanted to save her father and ended up the prisoner of a beast who would have sooner killed her in that moment so she had run. And ended up here.
