"I think it is. But, seventeen, yes." While many of the young women her age were already considering marriage even if it wasn't necessary just yet, Belle wanted more than just marrying and being a house wife. She wanted more than the common positions in life she might have. Perhaps here, though, seventeen was just the beginning of life and not when one had to settle into what was expected and then die young in childbirth.
"That would make sense, though. Running into the unexpected here. From what you have told me, anything is possible and it is best to keep an open mind."
Or that was the books talking. She had a feeling that many of the people from her town would be panicking right now. Or wanting to find a way to fight it. But they were all so narrow minded and set on their gossip. Perhaps this was for the best for her. A place where anything was possible and mind sets weren't so narrow that she felt suffocated by expectations. Still, it was good advice and it was nice knowing that people seemed to agree with that mind set instead of thinking it wrong and weird.
The comment on getting her happily ever after gave the brunette a moment of pause. But it was something she would consider later. Besides, no one knew their future. Well, maybe the fictional people did? Thoughts to think about later.
"Perhaps. Many of the stories I have read involve happily ever after, but I know that life does not always follow the pages of a book. pain and loss also exist... But perhaps I will if I get sent back. Or I can make a new future here..."
