What did this woman mean, the New World eventually gets called America. Broken into fifty provinces. That wasn't something that just happened over night. That didn't even happen in a ten year span. But the way she spoke made it sound as if it had been that way for a while now.
"You are talking as if it has not been the New World for a while now. Named, with...states you said, previously ruled by numerous countries but not now..."
It wasn't an accusing tone, but Belle was trying to wrap her mind around what she was being told.
"Things like that do not happen in a short span of time... So not only am I no longer in France, but the future?"
Okay, maybe freaking out was a good idea. Except Belle wasn't like that. She may only be seventeen but she still tried to maintain a level of calm. Yelling at Emma wouldn't solve anything. And she was asking about religion and the Bible. Belle wasn't necessarily religious, she went to services like everyone. But there were other religions so she hadn't made up her mind.
"I have been working on finishing it..." Because sometimes the only book available to her was the Bible and while it was in French, it was still a challenge to get through. At least thoroughly. She had skimmed it a few years back, but some things really did require a deeper look, to truly grasp what was being said.
"Revelations, that is the last book in the Bible, correct? The one on the way the world is supposed to end when Christ returns?"
