As Bruce explained about radiation, Helena nodded in understanding. She was not familiar with the details of radiation, but she followed along easily. Upon hearing Bruce was exposed to such high levels of it, Helena's jaw fell open a bit in shock. She looked at him, impressed that he was alive and standing after such a thing. Nevermind she didn't exactly know what gamma radiation was, but she could read more about it later.
The Hyde reference was not lost on Helena, she had the book once before she'd fallen so far from herself. As she listened to Bruce explain his condition, she couldn't help but feel complete empathy for him. It was a difficult burden to carry, she could clearly deduce that from the tone of his voice and the look in his eyes. However, despite the description of the Hulk, she was not afraid of the revelation. She wasn't horrified by it either. All that shown within her eyes was compassion and empathy. Even as she saw the touch of green to his eyes.
She gently set one of her hands over one of his and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I am sorry that you have such a burden on your shoulders. It must be very difficult to carry it, having to be careful all the time. I do not know what I can do, but if there is ever anything I can do to help you, just ask it and I will gladly do it." Her tone was gentle but true.
