For a second, Priestly looked impressed with himself when he saw Amy look down and blush a little. It was the way Jen always looked when they clowned her about Fuzzy. The way Tish looked when a particularly huge shithead hit on her. Had he done that? Successfully? He hadn't even been trying to... Maybe, Priestly thought, taking a mental note of it for future reference, that was the key. Not to be trying. No wonder Tish always shut him down. He tried too hard. That made sense, right? She only rejected him because he was trying too hard, not because she didn't actually secretly want him. Yeah, probably not, but the thought made him smile a little, anyway.
"Oh, you're not," Priestly replied, shaking his head. "Nah, nah...like I said, I was still channel surfing. It's cool, I can stick around. I mean, if you want...?" he offered, again with the awkward tone, uncertain whether that was what she was hinting at or if she was politely trying to tell him to get lost. Priestly was really, really bad at reading women.
"Well, did you at least tell him that size doesn't matter?"
"Yeah, I told him. ...you don't think men actually believe that, do you?"
For a second, Priestly shut his eyes and set his jaw to push the thought of that particular conversation between Piper and Tish out of his mind. Maybe Emma was right. Maybe Tish was a bitch...
