Amy felt her cheeks flush just a little when he complimented her. She smiled and looked down for a second, a little embarrassed to be blushing at something as simple as a nice compliment. Priestly was really growing on her. It was so nice to have someone she felt she could trust. Had Charley not been in the picture... Well, that would have been a different situation altogether. It was the thought of Charley back home, the boy who had saved her life, that kept her from going beyond hugging Priestly. She suddenly felt a little guilty, though she tried her best not to show it.
"I don't want to keep you up." It was a vague sort of answer. She really didn't want to deprive him of sleep, but she couldn't help but think that just sitting there and talking could be a pleasant thing. "Are you sleepy?" Amy smiled just slightly, not really sure what answer she was hoping for. She just knew that she was glad she came over. It sure beat being alone in her apartment. Sitting by herself, worried about Peter and obsessing over her nightmares... It made bad feelings even worse.
