She couldn't help but let out a laugh. It wasn't the pleasant kind of laugh, of course, but one that indicated that Priestly was right in thinking it was a serious problem. Amy shook her head with another sigh.
Priestly really was a sweet guy. It was a comfort to have him around, picking up the pieces of her mess. She knew she'd made a good decision coming over to his place. Had she been alone back at her apartment she knew things would have turned out differently. Instead of having him there to straighten out the covers she'd be curled up in a ball, probably crying about the whole mess. Jerry combined with Peter's abduction... It was more stress than anyone should have dealt with.
When he said that he would listen to her talk about what had caused her nightmare, Amy looked up at him with a sort of hopeful expression. All she could think was that it would be such a relief to talk to anyone about what troubled her and she opened her mouth to speak, but she hesitated and then finally closed her mouth again. There was a moment's pause before she spoke again.
"Water would be nice." She gave a smile and hesitated, wondering whether or not she should ask him to listen to her story. "And maybe..." Amy trailed off once more, silent for a second or two. "Maybe then I could tell you about it." She nodded, thinking that perhaps it might be a good thing to talk about her nightmares for a change.
