He knew she was pretending, he knew something was wrong and he hated that he wasn't able to make it better. If only he knew exactly what it was. He knew it was something to do with demons, Gabrielle froze whenever he brought up the word. Did he push or did he leave it alone? In this situation he was too drained to push, he was known for having an endless supply of energy. He couldn't let it show how much it upset him that he'd failed on a couple levels. First on his attempt to thwart the Master's plan, then the failed rescue of Pepper, it was just another kick in the teeth that he couldn't do anything for the blond girl who'd advanced on him with the burning medicine.
He couldn't let his frustration show despite these things that weighed so heavily on his mind. "They won't even feed us. Those guys are about as fun as a bag of rocks." He motioned toward the guard, but his voice then silenced as he felt the burning sensation threaten to cause him to pass out. He needed energy to thrive on, Gabrielle seemed so distant to him that half the time in his dazed state he wasn't sure she was there at all, the only thing that reminded him she was had been the burn of antiseptic. Iolaus barely hissed through his teeth and closed his eyes tiredly.
He didn't sleep since the torture session, if he saw an opening to escape he was going to take it. The guards never seemed to sleep though. His hands were cuffed, the metal chafed at his wrists and he seemed to drift in and out of conscious thought. Still he did it without as much as a word of protest. He wouldn't give suit guy the satisfaction of knowing he'd physically hurt him that bad.
Iolaus had been through torture before, it wasn't his first tour. At least this time the Master hadn't wanted Hercules.
