Nodding as Rose said the Doctors would be too distracted now to keep a level head, Abby just thought for a moment. She knew that Connor wouldn't give up, but she also doubted he'd keep a level head in all of this. So those tied to them specifically, perhaps not...
"Still, there are others, if they have the same idea, there's still a chance, yeah?"
Optimistic thinking wasn't really Abby's specialty. She just... faked it around people. Even in the Cretaceous Era... it was really only when Connor would go off to find food or something where she'd let herself actually break. He kept her spirits up in that time, but she still did falter when alone. And then the comment on a way out.
"Why else would they react in such ways? If they're trying to break my spirit though..." Well, Abby was determined. Tiny and people issued, but determined. "But yeah, they're more apt to beat us to a pulp than let us out. Which is annoying..."
Abby had never been trained for this. Not for a job or anything. It was all circumstance for her. And it made the nights horrid when they finally left her alone. Memories. She could handle the abuse, it was the memories that were harder to deal with. Which was why she was vague in her reply to being asked if she was all right. Because really, how did one answer that?
"Depends on your definition, but yeah. And you're right. They're not stupid. Whoever is behind this knows what they're up against in regards to our resources and did whatever with the brainwashing to accommodate that."
