Watching Livia work was something special. She was ruthless and violent, and he created that. She was his Champion. He brought that out in her and it was as wonderful as daydreaming up a world without Hercules. Annoying Half Brother. One day he would be rid of him. He was rid of Xena. As much as that should have pleased him the truth was there was a tiny spot in his dark heart for the warrior princess that would never be filled. No matter the fear that Livia brought to Rome which spread like disease, no matter the blood she sacrificed in his name. Nothing would fill it. As much as he tried nothing worked.
He sat back and watched her blade cut through it's latest victim with his arms crossed over his chest idly. It was like half of her adversaries didn't even try anymore. Ares was getting bored of them. He needed a new challenge. She needed new blood. Hades was probably hating him for all the over time work Livia sent him. No matter. His eyes closed as he breathed in the scent of blood and sweat.
When he opened them however that wonderful scent had vanished, replaced by something different. Something modern Ares didn't quite recognize. Rome was gone, he was sure he hadn't done anything to change that. It was in no way his fault that he was standing on a very public street visible, dressed in leather and getting strange looks. No way at all could the other Gods blame him for anything that may or may not have happened. He mulled it over on that sidewalk internally not caring who stared or who spoke of the new dark stranger.
