Lexi of course only responded with a smirk. "The whittling noise would make the headache worse and I'd wait till juuuust before you finish and hightail it. Its not worth the effort. ...Okay so mean as I was it might be worth the effort but you could totally get revenge someday and it'd escalate and lets just not, okay?" She nodded resolutely and totally would have left him alone if he hadn't looked so adorkable when he mussed his hair all up. "I'm sorry!" she managed to wheeze out between gigglefits as he grumbled and sulked at her. "But your hair!." Oh yeah that was it for her, he'd stake her and she'd totally have it coming. But the shushing and the hair and the ridiculous was an image that would stick with her forever. She wondered was a camera phone too mean but quickly decided he might actually cry and decided to leave it.
No booze ever again. Yup, that was clearly a thing that would happen. Till the next time he decided to get so drunk he couldn't think and apparently he'd even had reason and all that so no mocking of it. He was allowed have nights of forgetting. Lexi was a big fan of those as it happened.
And she knew a little something about not wanting to think about things. "I get it, I really do. Sometimes thinking about things hurts to much to even contemplate but it creeps up on you when you least expect it to. So look, this is me, leaving it alone. But if you ever want an outside the family opinion or even just someone to vent things at, you come and find me, okay? You've been a good friend since I got here and I don't forget about things like that. You're sort of stuck with me now. Sorry." And he really was stuck with her. Lexi made friends easily but had less close friends than people might expect. Sam Winchester had been inching into that territory for a while now. His wife being pally with Damon didn't help but she sort of understood why even if she didn't like it. And she didn't have to interact with the annoying little snake in the grass when she was around Sam and his wife. They understood her feelings on it. Which meant a lot to her.
"We can eat and drink same as you. We just need the blood too. And you know me, strictly willing or more often than not blood bags. How does it work here, do they not eat? I don't hear much about native vamps to be honest. Is that a whole thing? You have demons and ghosts and werewolves though so you gotta have some kind of vampires?" Get him talking about hunting. That'd get them off the topic of the badness. She'd put her point across that he could talk to her, really there was no point making him dwell on what he didn't want to. That'd help no one.
She sipped her coffee watching him calmly. Maybe he just needed not to sit alone and brood right now. And Lexi was an expert at stopping brooding. Being the BFF of Stefan Salvatore taught you things. Gave you life skills that came in useful in the most unlikely places. She really should make them talk more. They had a worrying amount in common those two.
