For a long moment, Katherine wasn't really sure what to think. The silence, it was killing her. If he would just say something, anything, it could give her a clue as to whether or not he believed it, or if he was doubting it.

Finally, he spoke again, and seconds later he was leaning in to kiss her, his hand against her cheek. Katherine closed her eyes, one hand reaching up to rest on his own, and she decided she would just pretend it was Stefan. When she pulled away, she smiled slightly. "You'll be fine, Damon, and when you are...we'll talk."
