As Galen said she'd pick it up quick, Gaia smirked a bit. "You are quick, are you not?" Though really, she meant sharp and not quick, but she didn't really notice the misplaced word. Then again, translating between Latin and modern English was not an easy task. "But you are correct, I do learn quickly." Which was the truth. It might take her a while to grasp technology, but she did learn how to use it to her own ends.
And it was at that moment that she decided to start baiting Galen, see if he took the bait she offered him. As her legs were crossed, she started lightly swinging the one on top, wondering if he'd look again upon noticing the movement. She was not sitting in a particularly provocative position, but she would move herself into one if he took this bait. Or even if he didn't. Sometimes men didn't always look where you wanted them to.
She listened to his story, feeling bad that he had watch his father die. Well all right, so she didn't feel that bad about it because she would have loved to watch her father die in such a manner. But she could identify with his fight to survive. "Apologies that you had to endure that in your childhood. But it seems that you came out the victor, at least for now because you did survive." She wasn't sure if she should ask for further details. But she was fast seeing that Galen had a dark past, and no doubt he needed someone to be there for him, help him. Well she could be that if that's what he needed or wanted. "I am no warrior, but I understand the fight for survival. My husband had no money left when he died, and I was left with nothing." Thank the gods she'd had Lucretia to turn to at that point, otherwise she might be dead or worse by now.
