That was one of the things that had drawn Abby to Connor, even when she refused to acknowledge it. That he was different. Yes, she was attracted to moody and dangerous but that was because she knew what she was getting. Or had been at least. In their own way, they were safer because she had known there was no real hope of anything. Connor though? He was different and so she fought it. Even when she had feelings for him. First she just didn't understand them. Understand the jealousy she felt about Caroline. Oh, she hated the skank bitch for what she had done to Rex. And hated her for just using Connor even if they had made some sort of amends following it. Didn't mean Abby wanted to see her again.
She had told Jenny that if you wanted someone, go for it because if you waited, you'd die of old age before a guy made the first move and been called on it, though she had been truthful when she said she was thinking of taking her own advice. But Cutter dying, Jack showing up.... But it didn't matter. To Connor, she was still the one who kept him at arms length for no real reason when she did have reasons that she just had never gotten around to voicing until after his time. Still, she didn't need to know about Kim. Not right now, at least. She was already dealing with the fact that they weren't together for him and her having to come to terms with that and to figure out what to do about that. After all, she did love him...
Stupid emotions. Why did she have to go and fall for someone where it would be real?
Hearing the comment about jokes being made about fighting the Seal, Abby just rolled her eyes. Then he mentioned Allana again and she had to try to not get the science fiction things messed up, which... was hard on a regular day let alone when she was sick.
"Allana... she the Star Tre... No, Star Wars one, right?" Yes, she did listen and pay attention. Just because she didn't actually follow along with the science fiction or comics thing didn't mean she didn't at least pay attention and try to retain the information. It was just a lot. "But right, picture of the Seal so I can fight it if it was a physical thing."
Shooting Connor an incredulous look, Abby wanted to retort that amulets could not protect someone. They were pretty to look at but they had no mystical powers. But... she was in a new dimension and not from an anomaly... maybe amulets could protect someone. Even if it seemed far fetched. And that was coming from someone who took care of dinosaurs. Following where he was pointing, Abby instead just gave a small nod.
"Okay. Free flat, safe, food, protected against demons and someone who shouldn't be real...not that demons should be real. Okay. I think I'm following along. Though I still think it's a fever dream. But okay, I'll go along with it."
Could people call fever dreams in the midst of one? No matter. Even if it was one, she should still go along with in case the whole.. dying in a dreams means you die in real life thing was real. So dream or not, she probably had to survive anyway.
