Connor saw the post from Jules and pretty much went into autopilot. How? Why? Now? The rush of questions in his head was....incredible, needless to say. Abby was here. With Rex. His Abby, only what if she wasn't? What if she was from the beginning, when she'd merely tolerated him? When she wasn't even his friend yet, let alone the closest friend he'd ever had?
His head was spinning as he made his way down to the police station, wishing he'd finally sucked it up and bought a car. How lame would he still look to her? No car, working two jobs basically, and freshly heartbroken yet again.
Clearly, he was just asking for this to suck.
There was no point in worrying about it till he got there. He had plenty saved up and bond wasn't exactly high for her situation. Mostly the officer he spoke with was more content to mumble, "typical in this city. I really need a transfer". Connor had to laugh with him mostly because the guy had no idea how right he was. Hell, if he got a transfer, it'd probably extend his life.
And then he waited. Not much else to do, really. He also had to figure out how to get Rex out of confinement. That he could probably do through their system. Create identification for him, make up a vet... Well. He could do that while he waited for them to bring Abby out, couldn't he? He pulled out his mobile, losing himself for a few minutes in the world of hacking secret security files. Much easier than thinking about the woman they had in that holding cell. Which Abby had the Seal brought?
