To anyone else, that would have sounded horrible. Her, flat out telling him that they each had no moral obligations in this, but that they'd be able to come back to each other whenever they wanted. Whenever he wanted. Maybe that was why the demons called her all those names. Actually, it seemed very likely. However, while it sounded downright terrible, Sam understood it and accepted it. He liked it that way. It was the only way he'd be able to do all of this without something stupid happening in the process. Getting attached to a demon, for starters. Sam had always been one for getting too close to certain women when he should not have and, really, that never ended well. Sam couldn't even begin to imagine as to how much worse the consequences would be if he got too attached to Ruby. The world would cave in on itself or something. Followed shortly by a drastic explosion.
"I don't know if it's okay. But I'm not gonna complain." Much. Complaining was always essential when it came to their interactions. It came natural. Plus, that was sort of what he had just been doing. Complaining about their sex life.
Oh God. They had a sex life. One to actually talk about. It half mortified and almost turned him on again all at once. Weird.
Sam inhaled softly and looked back up the ceiling again, still lightly running his fingers along her neck. "Thanks. For tonight, I mean. The blood and...the...this. Thank you."
