The vigilante nodded. He knew how Jim felt about leaving cases open. It was one of the reasons he did all he could to ensure they weren't left open for long. Though the revolving door at Arkham didn't help much in that department.
At her teasing remark, he shrugged. "I paid attention and made Dean's List every semester, but it was more of a show that I went. I read most of my college texts when I was in high school after all." He smiled as she graciously accepted the compliment without so much as a blush. Though he did rather like her smile. It was almost infectious and he found himself returning it.
Bruce picked his own glass up and held it out so it clinked against hers. "Here here," he agreed before pulling back and sipping on it.
The rest of the night passed in a happy blur. He let Phoebe drive the car back (after making sure they were both sober enough for it) then walked her to her door. And after a chaste kiss that didn't end that way, Bruce found himself alone but nonetheless quite happy. Loosening his tie, he headed back to his own room, looking forward to the next time he would be in the pleasant company of Phoebe.
