Leo was more and more eager, no, perhaps eager was the wrong word...anxious, yes that was it, to know what had kept him and Chris from being close. It had to be something. And Leo was a bit worried about what it could be. Had whatever he'd done in Piper's point in time caused the future Chris was from? Or was it Belthazor? Or maybe something more sinister they hadn't encountered yet...
He rubbed his forehead. Assuming things would do little good. No. He needed to ask right out. Hearing his son's voice pulled Leo out of his thoughts and he nodded. "It pretty much does," he agreed. "I mean, take life. It's definitely harder on some than most. But when you succeed in the end, it makes it all worthwhile. Or so the hope goes I suppose." With that Leo finished his drink and set the cup gently on the table.
"I know this is about you getting to know me but I'd like to get to know you too. I mean, you are my son and I'd be a pretty poor father to not try to know you."
