Dick had nearly forgotten why he was awake so early, and then he remembered it. He actually had a paying job that he needed to hold onto for money. It was odd. Not terrible, just different. He wasn't used to having next to nothing, he'd always had some sort of financial backing. He could have with Darcy, but his pride wouldn't allow him to take handouts forever. She was his friend, not his credit card. He refused to see it as that kind of friendship. If that was all it was, then he might as well just be hired help. He couldn't do that.
He needed a real life of his own and step one was get a job. So there he was at early o clock after a long night of patrol, drinking a coffee and on his way to Lawrence Gym when he could have sworn he heard Russian. He thought it might have been Svetlana or maybe her girls, but when he turned in the direction of the voice he raised a brow. It was neither, just a girl in a night gown and a squirmy dog who'd bumped into his leg. He knelt down to let the dog sniff at his hand and reached to pet and pick it up until it's owner came to claim him.
"I think this guy belongs to you?" He stated as he saw Anya, she was a little out of place. That probably only meant one thing. New member of team apocalypse. He made a really bad welcome wagon ontop of it. Pretty much hated that part. Nobody liked being told they were stuck in a strange world with an apocalypse breathing down their neck.
He held out the little dog to Anya for her to take and offered a smile.
