And gone was James' self control. At least in this instance. Which really was better for the women he would encounter. Looking past Damon, James looked to the blond witch who wasn't paying attention to what was going on. Who was trying to avoid what was happening around her as if it would protect her.
"I'm so sorry for hurting you, Galinda. It won't happen again."
While the words were sincere, they were still product of compulsion. But that didn't matter because suddenly he was being made to drink a small portion of Damon's blood so as to not be noticed as attacked. The wound healed and he stood there, uncertain of what to do. Well, beyond leave. So he left. Uncertain of what just happened. He was sore. Really sore but for the life of him, he couldn't remember what had happened.
Galinda was quiet for a very long time. She didn't really respond to James' apology because it wasn't real. It was forced out of him by compulsion. And even if it had been real, she wouldn't have responded. What was she supposed to say? Oh, it's okay? You used me for sex and a punching bag for nearly a year but an apology makes it better? Okay. So she had always forgiven him even without an apology because she just wanted that supposed love and he knew it. But that didn't make it better.
After a time though, the beaten blond just winced as she stood up.
"You didn't have to do that, Damon. But thank you." Kissing his cheek, she stepped back and wrapped her arms around herself.
"I should go. Elphie's going to worry... and something is already upsetting her...."
True, this time she wouldn't be able to hide the injuries from Elphie or Elena or Jeremy but she should still get back to the house so as not to worry Elphie, not knowing that this incident had caused her to reach out to Moriarty, not knowing she was the witch behind Moriarty who was protecting him. Not knowing she was the reason for it. She wasn't worth it so why would that thought even cross her mind?
