As much as Anatoly wanted to take Molokov out himself, he knew he couldn't. Even without the KGB backing Molokov up, he had too many factors in play. If Anatoly took the time to track down Molokov himself, who would stay with Svetlana, Fayina and Jelena and ensure they stayed safe? No, he needed help. And he had asked for it when it was needed. In a million years, the Russian never thought that Freddie would be the one to help him, but here it was, and he wasn't stupid enough to do this alone simply because pride got in the way. No, Anatoly was working hard on keeping his pride in check now, knowing that it had been part of all of his problems the past five years. Really, he should have stayed on course of being a doctor and not let Molokov talk him into competitive chess.
Anatoly simply nodded in response. There was no need for a vocal response, they both knew Molokov would leave some sort of trace behind that they could find and use against the man. The only question was whether or not they would find it tonight. But they had to.
"That's because he relies more on defense than offense. His weakness is not giving more thought to offense. He can defend all he wants, but if he is not actively taking the other player's pieces off the board, the defense will eventually break." Anatoly glanced at Freddie as he made the comment about not having been challenged until they'd played here with nothing on the line. Again, the Russian man kept any potential retort quiet in that respect. "Everyone needs a challenge, and what is a good chess player without meeting challenges along the way?"
Turning his attention back to the school, Anatoly made note of the cars in the parking lot. There weren't many, but Anatoly had a good idea of which car was Molokov's. Now all that they needed was to wait for him to come out of the building. Speaking of which there was someone coming out of the door and Anatoly looked closely to see if it was Molokov or not. It only took him a few moments before he recognized him.
"There he is," he said, pulling his camera out of its bag and getting ready to use it.
