He wasn't looking forward to possibly having to fill Kon in on what had happened at home. He didn't even know how somebody should go about telling somebody else that they had died and come back to life. If Kon wasn't one of his best friends, he wouldn't worry about it so much. But he was his best friend and he was worrying too much. Deciding that he'd wait and tell him only when and if he came right out and asked made him feel a tiny bit better. Not much, but a little.
Putting it out of his mind for the time being, Bart smirked a smirk that was more of a grin and then proceeded to nearly fall (ungracefully) backwards when Kon hugged him. Thankfully, he regained his footing in less time than it took for him to blink an eye and he returned the hug without making a scene. Bart, unlike most of his male friends, was naturally affectionate and he didn't mind the quick embrace.
"You did not. I think I recognize a loser when I see one," he quipped playfully.
Bart ran a quick circle around him and came to settle back down on his other side. At the mention of demons, he scrunched up his nose disapprovingly. "I'll pass on that welcoming party," he said, and then, pointing off toward the street, "lead the way, boy wonder."
