Piper Halliwell is gonna blow you up ([info]freezedammit) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Who: Piper & [Open]
What: Her arrival to Lawrence
When: Friday morning [3-30-12]
Where: A park
Rating/Status: TBD/In progress

Piper glanced around her new surroundings. She was, beyond all else, incredibly confused. She had just been "up there", talking to Leo and being rather upset with him, if she were completely honest. She was not happy with this new path he was taking and she would be damned if he didn't know how she felt about it. Though, considering they weren't exactly done talking, she wasn't sure why she was back on Earth just yet. This...was not right. Something was wrong, here, and she was determined to find out what it was. "Leo!" she cried out for him, but nothing came. No orbs, no suddenly materializing husband. Was he ignoring her? Oh, he would be in for it when she saw him again if he was.

She was in a park somewhere that didn't really look familiar at all and she was much more unnerved by suddenly being somewhere she shouldn't be than she allowed to show on the surface in that moment. She would take this one step at a time and figure it out as she went along. First, she needed to figure out where she was, and she wasn't going to find that out standing around in a park.

Piper took one deep breath and let it out before she started walking. She had no idea where she was going, but she would figure it all out soon enough. All she had to do was get into town and find someone that knew where she was and, hopefully, what was going on, but she would tread that part lightly because this seemed magic-related and she couldn't talk to just anyone about that sort of thing.

Somehow, Prue managed to not flinch when Piper flicked her hands. Despite the fact it had been just over two years since she'd been in her own time and place where Piper was barely able to control the combustion side of her powers, Prue was honestly a little frightened her younger sister would actually succeed in blowing her up. But she stood her ground without flinching, and she remained unharmed. At which she let out a little breath of relief.

And suddenly it was a very good thing Prue had put her camera away because Piper was tackling her. Prue stumbled slightly, but managed to stay on her feet. She returned the hug full force, holding Piper tightly and grinning. "It's good to see you again, Piper," Prue murmured, gently rubbing Piper's back. To Prue, it had been a few months to a year since she last saw a version of Piper, but she understood it had been years since Piper had seen her. She wasn't going to bother with asking Piper where in the timeline she came from just yet. No, she was going to enjoy this reunion.

And this time the Seal had better let Piper stay. Prue was tired of losing her sisters, and honestly? She really wanted them to be here for her wedding. As much as she did love Damien, it really wouldn't be much of a wedding without her sisters. At least now Mel was off the hook as far as maid of honor went now that Piper was here. "I've missed you."

Piper didn't want to let go of Prue, for fear that somehow this was all in her head and she wasn't really here, that if she let go, Prue would simply vanish. Because logically, she couldn't be here. Yet, here she was. It was a very confusing moment, but mostly she was just overjoyed at seeing her sister again. Piper decided that even if this was all in her head, she would revel in the time she had with Prue because it may all end before she knew it.

Finally, she slowly released her sister and stepped back a little. She still couldn't believe this was happening, but honestly? She was really, really glad to see Prue. In all of her suspicion and shock, Piper had almost forgotten that she was in a strange and unfamiliar place. "So...where are we, exactly?" She asked, assuming Prue had been here longer than she had and would probably have some answers. "I was up there talking to Leo," she explained, deciding to leave out the part about the arguing for now, "and then I was here. I don't know what's going on, but I really, really need to get home, Prue. There are...a lot of things going on right now and I really can't do this..." she searched for the right word for a moment, "demonic plane of existance or whatever this is right now."

When Piper finally pulled back, Prue smiled. Despite the fact she now needed to explain everything, it was good to have her sister here. "Okay, you aren't going to like this, and there's a lot I have to explain, so just bear with me." All right, so basics first. "Currently we're in Lawrence, Kansas. Yes I know, why Kansas, but I don't know the answer and I've been here for two years. This isn't our world. It's a parallel universe type of thing. So basically if you try to go to visit the manor, it's not there. Well, it is, but other people live there. Yes, I've gone there. As for why we're here, it's because there's an Apocalypse happening, like the Christian Biblical Apocalypse. We've all ready had two of the Horsemen come through here, but we managed to kill them. Eventually."

Prue paused then, letting Piper digest that. "There's no Triad or Source or any of the crap from our world here." Except Cole, but Prue would tell Piper about him at a later date. "Lucifer is the one we're fighting. Oh and demons here can only exist on this plane by possessing people. They tend to appear to us as black smoke before they possess someone. Instead of vanquishing, we exorcise them. I can teach you how to do that. It involves a chant in Latin and drawing a Devil's Trap. The Devil's Trap basically traps demons and they can't move outside of it." And again she paused to let Piper digest that. And then she was going to let Piper attack her with the millions of questions. Well, after one more point. "Oh, and we can't go home. Just as the Seal pulls us here, it is the only thing that can send us home, but it seems to only do that randomly. While we're here, as far as we can tell, time just stops back home. So basically if the Seal ever sends you back home, you'll go right back to where you just were in the middle of what you were doing. But until then, nothing will be happening." All right, now she was done and was letting Piper digest all of that.

Piper stood there, listening to everything Prue had to tell her. There were things flying through her mind before she was even half way through with her explanation. This could not be happening. No. No, this could not be real.

"Apocalypse? Not so different from home...but Lucifer? Really?" She arched an eyebrow. That sounded a little farfetched, even for her own definition of 'normal'. "Wait...so...an exorcism? Can't I just blow them up?" she wrinled her nose. The Devil's Trap and the exorcism sounded like a lot of extra work to go to when she could just burst the rotten little suckers into a billion pieces.

"What do you mean I can't go home? No, Prue, I have to! There's way too much that I need to deal with there, I can't be here!" So maybe the rational part of her brain missed the part about time more or less standing still back home, but could anyone blame her? This was a damn lot of information to take in and she still had a lot on her mind at this point.

Inwardly, Prue had been waiting for the defenses, the implausibilities to come out of Piper's mouth. Prue knew her sister well and knew that while fighting demons was basically what they'd done as the Charmed Ones anyway, this wasn't so different. But grasping the fact they were in a parallel universe would be harder.

"No, you can't just blow them up because in this world, demons don't actually have bodies of their own. They possess innocent people that we don't want to kill. Thus why the exorcism and Devil's Trap. Yes I know it's more work than just simply blowing them up or vanquishing them, but we have to think of the innocent people they're possessing. So basically if you ever see black smoke moving at a fast pace, that would be a demon looking for someone to possess." She hoped Piper would accept that because more explanation further than that and Prue would basically just be bull shitting her way through it. Even with being here as long as she'd been, there were still things she couldn't explain well.

"I know, Piper, believe me, I know you want to go home. But you can't. We're all brought here for a reason to help in this fight. You might be sent back home at some point, I've seen many people come and go and come back again in the time I've been here. Just trust me on this, nothing will happen at home until you are back there to take care of it, all right?" Just like Prue herself wouldn't actually be dead until she went back, which is why Prue never wanted to leave this place. She didn't want to die. She finally had everything she'd ever wanted in her life. She was set to marry the man of her dreams, she had the possibility of having two beautiful children with him. If the Seal sent her back home now, she'd lose it all, and she didn't want that. Prue absolutely refused to end up like their mother.

Piper was shaking her head before Prue was even done talking, "No, no, no. I can't do this!" she waved her hands, one over the other, resembling a music conductor signaling the orchastra to stop playing. "I am too old to try and learn completely new rules! This isn't even--no. Just no, Prue. This is not happening." She was pacing now, "I am finding a way out of here and...I'm going home to deal with my husband's stupid life decisions and to make sure demons don't get my baby."

Though she had, for the most part, gotten better about handling stress, but with everything that had been thrown at her within the last 24 hours, she was hurdling towards a breaking point at higher speeds than normal. This was simply just too much.

All right, so Prue needed a different tactic. Reaching out, she set her hands on Piper's shoulders and looked her in the eye. "Listen to me, Piper, you can't go home, not by your own choice. And believe me, I know you don't want to learn how to deal with this, I've been there. But you're here, this is real, and you can't run away from it. I know you have problems back home and I know you want to fix them, but you can't do anything about it. If you get sent back home, you can then deal with it, but right now I need to get you somewhere safe. Please, just trust me."

All right so Prue was half-begging, but she wasn't going to just let Piper try to run away from this when they couldn't. Piper was probably roughly the same age as Prue herself now was, which was odd, but it was better than having Phoebe be the same age as her. "Despite the rule changes, we still have innocents we need to protect here, and that's our job as the Charmed Ones, isn't it? Protecting the innocent?"

She stopped her pacing when Prue reached out to place her hands on her shoulders. She shook her head and whispered, "I can't do this...not on top of everything else..." It took everything in her not to just collapse in a heap on the ground right then. She wasn't in the right mindset to deal with this. Not by far.

"They're making him an Elder, Prue," her voice stayed quiet, nearly breaking a few times as she went on. "He saved them from the Titans and they're making him one of them, he's leaving...he's leaving me and Wyatt behind..." The frown that formed over her features created deep creases across her forehead. "I don't understand it...."

Well all right, that was not what she'd expected to hear. Though Prue probably should've asked what had been happening at home. It was strange, really, because Prue had so gotten used to being alone here. But the sisterly instincts weren't that rusty, so as soon as she heard that Leo was leaving her, Prue pulled Piper into a hug, gently stroking her hair.

"Oh honey, I'm so sorry," she murmured gently. She knew how much Leo meant to Piper. How could Leo just leave like that? to be an Elder? As if Piper didn't have enough issues with the Elders all ready for having taken Leo away from her for a while. But wasn't the fact that both Chris and Mel existed proof that things would work out? ...not that Prue should say that right now because Piper would just freak out over having two more children she didn't even know about here. "I wish I could tell I understood it, but maybe he had a plan, some reason for it that he couldn't tell you." And of course being the oldest sister and still having the slightly maternal defensive instinct, she wanted to make it all right for Piper again. She wanted her sister to be happy again, and she knew Leo made her happy.

Piper didn't fight the hug Prue pulled her into. In fact, it was kind of nice to have that right then. She needed it. So many times, she had needed this, and there was no Prue around to give it to her. Words could not properly express how amazing it was to have it in that moment. "It's just not fair, Prue..we've fought so hard....too hard for him to give it up."

She shook her head, "There shouldn't be anything that he has to hide from me, Prue...." she said as she pulled away slightly, brushing the tears away from her cheeks. "I just....I can't wrap my head around it, it makes no sense...." she said, her eyes falling to the ground.

This was just another example of why Prue never wanted to go back home. She knew what awaited her there, and at least here, she could have everything she'd ever dreamed of having. Back home, all she had waiting for her was death and her sisters having to move on without her. And she wanted more than anything to always be there for them when they needed her. It was her job to take care of them, to help them when they needed it.

When Piper pulled back from the hug, Prue looked at her and took in a breath. "I know, honey. But I'm sure he still loves you." Reaching out, Prue lifted Piper's chin and she gave her a reassuring smile. "He's Leo, and he is your soulmate. He didn't just stop loving you, and I wish he could've told you why he did that, but whatever it is, it's not your fault. You are the best wife and mother in the world. It will get fixed. How, I don't know, but it will. Don't things always work out?" Well, things didn't always work out because Leo hadn't been able to bring Prue back to life, but in other situations, hadn't things always worked out?

Piper nodded slightly, "Usually, they do." She said softly with a slight sigh. "I just...don't understand it right now and I really wish I could." She managed a slight smile, though. "God, this is one thing about you I miss so much..." She shook her head, "You always manage to calm me down, somehow."

A few moments of silence passed and finally, Piper let out a breath. "So...where are you staying? I guess I should start figuring out the whole getting settled thing, here, if I'm stuck..."

Of course Prue really wished she had the answer for Piper to put her at ease, but she didn't. All she could do was remind her things tended to always work out somehow. At the slight smile, Prue couldn't help but smile herself. "I'm the big sister, it's my job to take care of you." She didn't like to think about what life was like without her back home. She'd met Paige once and liked her, so she knew her sisters would be just fine. She just really wished she hadn't had to die.

"There's an apartment complex owned by others like us. Many of us who have been brought here live there. It's completely free and it's protected so demons and the like can't enter. Come on, it's not that far away." Prue turned and started leading the way back to the complex. Though before she got very far, she suddenly remembered something and turned back to Piper. "Oh um...before we go any further, I have something to tell you." But instead of telling Piper she was getting married, Prue simply held up her left hand, showing off the diamond ring on her finger.

Piper smiled and nodded at her comment about being the big sister. She actually understood that job, that responsibility now, after being in that role herself. There was a part of her that was relieved that she didn't have to carry that title right now, but another part wondered if she could turn that off in herself now.

When Prue said she had something to tell her, she waited for her to go on, but nothing came. And then a ring was in her field of vision and Piper's eyes got wide and a grin split across her face, "You're getting married?! When? To who? How are you on planning?" All of the important questions spilled out all at once and Piper wouldn't have been able to stop them even if she had wanted to.

Oh Prue was fully aware that her and Piper may buttheads more often here because Piper had taken up the mantle of the oldest sister. She'd sort of dealt with it once before here. Prue didn't expect Piper to be able to turn that part of her off, and it would be horrendously difficult for Prue to stop being that way. Especially now after going so long with only Mel being there, she had a natural instinct to protect her sister.

At the questions, Prue couldn't help but beam brightly and proudly. "I am! End of April, early May, I haven't exactly set a date just yet." Mostly because her sisters tended to keep coming and going during the planning process. "His name is Damien Thorn. As far as planning, I was actually just out taking pictures of potential places for the ceremony. We're having an outdoor wedding. And it's going to be a Wiccan ceremony." Now just came the part about telling Piper just who Damien was. "Now, I know you'll probably yell at me for this or think I'm insane, but it's not how it sounds. Damien is actually the son of Satan from the world he's from. So...technically the Antichrist. But he's not evil here. He's fighting with us against the evil here, and he's never tried to hurt me. He's a good guy."

Though Prue really was just waiting for Piper to go on and on about Cole and all the crap Prue had put Phoebe through because of that. But Cole had tried to kill them on more than one occasion. Damien had never tried to kill her or hurt her.

"So soon! Oh my God, you have to pick a date, Prue! There's so much that goes into this, which you're probably completely aware of at this point, but still!" Piper was mostly just excited right now. Her big sister was getting married! What was not to be excited about?

Except that. "Son of Satan?" She repeated slowly, an eyebrow arching curiously at her sister. "That doesn't sound...so great." She said, trying to process this. "You're sounding a little bit like Phoebe, you know?" A jest with a more serious sentiment behind it. "How long have you two been together?" Piper was now in the pre-panic mode, but she was keeping herself calm and collected on the outside. The idea of her sister marrying the Antichrist? Not exactly an easy idea to be calm with.

"I know I do! Honestly though, I was sort of hoping you or Phoebe, or both, would show up because I wanted at least one of you to be at my wedding. But now you're here, so you are officially my Maid of Honor and you are helping me plan this!" It was something that didn't really need to be said between them. Prue had helped Piper plan her wedding, so it was all ready understood the favor would be returned. There was also that whole fact that until now, Mel and Chris would've been her only family members here to be at her wedding. At least now Prue had another member of her bridal party?

And here was the screeching brakes, but Prue wanted Piper to know this about Damien up front. She wasn't about to go keeping secrets, and with their family's track record in such things, she knew honesty was the best policy. "Yeah I know, believe me." Prue nodded, knowing full well she sounded like Phoebe. And honestly? She probably even felt a little like Phoebe. "We've been together about a year and a half." The timing of it was weird because it had started with that weird alternate reality when she'd been the business executive and Damien had been one of her lovers. But it was roughly a year and a half since they had officially started dating. "We've been engaged for just over nine months. I know the Antichrist thing is worrisome knowing our family's history, but he is not out to hurt people. In the two years I've been here, Damien has only been helping fight the demons. He's been nothing but kind and generous to me." As she spoke of Damien, there was more than an obvious glow to her features. She then looked Piper in the eye. "He's the one, Piper, I know he is. After knowing I died back home, I really didn't think that I would ever be able to be happy like this. But he makes me happy." She well knew it would take Piper a while to get used to this, but Prue hoped that showing Piper how much she loved Damien would help get things rolling in the right direction.

And yes, Prue now officially felt exactly like Phoebe had when she first fell for Cole. Karma. That must be what was at work here. Or just the Halliwell attracting demons thing. Or both. It was hard to tell.

"Of course I'm helping you! When we get back to your place, you're telling me every detail you have planned out and we are getting on this planning thing a-sap!" Piper was beyond excite for her sister and there was no way she would have ever dreamed of not helping Prue with her wedding.

Piper was chewing on her lower lip as she listened to Prue talk about the man she was about to set out to spend the rest of her life with. There was a certain level of a happy glow that emanated from her as she went on, which made it a little harder to hate the guy right off the bat. He made Prue happy. Wasn't that what she deserved? But Son of Satan! That was something that was hard to ignore. "I can't make a real judgement at this point, but if he makes you this happy...how can I say anything other than congratulations?" She smiled softly, but it faded into a firm stare, "But if he hurts, so help me, I will blow him up."

"I will spill every detail! And um...I still need a dress. I've been trying a few, but with some of the crazy that's been happening here of late, I've gotten sidetracked from that. But you get to help me with that!" She was about to drag Mel out for that, but now perhaps she could take them both. Family outing or something. Well, once Piper learned who Mel even was, but that was also something for another time.

Prue was very aware that it would take more than her simply telling Piper about Damien to convince her not to blow him up. So perhaps they should do a dinner soon where Piper could get to know him. Again. Really, how many times had her and Damien done this? Oh well, it was one of the drawbacks to being in this world. At getting the stare, Prue nodded. "I understand completely. But for now, let's get you settled in, and then I'll introduce you to him when you're ready." She gave Piper a warm smile. And she seriously hoped that the last taste of the future she got came to pass, that she and Damien would have two wonderful children and live. She wanted nothing of that Croat future when she'd had the miscarriage.

Linking arms with Piper, Prue once again led the way back to the complex. "It's so good to see you again, Piper."
