Nico considered, looking the woman over with a glance. She didn't seem like a police officer or neighbourhood watch type person, or was at least friendlier than most. (She wasn't a Fury in disguise, either -- she'd recognise him and be insulting him by now.) He probably wasn't in trouble, although sometimes the friendly ones were worse, being all well-meaning and secretly calling child services. If he saw a cellphone, he was out of here.
"--much the same. I'm looking for somewhere nearby to grab some coffee. I just got into town," he admitted, by way of explanation. It was a vague enough confession. He knew his rumpled clothes and hair would add credence to any tale of travelling.
And it wasn't a lie, he thought ruefully. He just wasn't yet sure how the travelling and getting into town had happened.
