Who: Gaia and OPEN! What: An arrival! When: Tonight Where: Near a park in Lawrence Warning: Gaia has fowl language more often than not, though unless you know Latin that won't really mean much, possibly touch of opium use to help her deal with this place. Otherwise everything else is TBA.
Knowing the bad blood that existed between Lucretia and Tullius for unsavory happening of the past, when the man not only had had the balls to show up at the party, but to challenge Gannicus to a duel and then try to kill him, Gaia had resigned herself to inserting herself to lessen the tension as much as she could. She'd take care of Tullius and keep him away from Lucretia. It was the least she could do for her friend, and in the meantime she hoped to play upon the crush Tullius had once had on her to secure him for her husband. As she made her way through the party, she procured a fresh cup of wine, needing a little courage for this. But as soon as she'd gotten the wine, she was suddenly not within Lucretia's house anymore. The sounds of the depravity happening around her had silenced. And now other sounds had replaced them, causing her to stand in place, trying to discern what had just happened.
"By the gods, what madness is this?" She asked in Latin, not directing the question to anyone. She looked around her, certain she had not had any opium that day, so she wasn't on a drug high. And she certainly wasn't drunk either. She may have a little buzz, but she was not drunk enough to hallucinate. So she was outdoors and it was night. All right, it had been night just moments earlier. Maybe she'd passed out without knowing it and was dreaming? But that wouldn't explain why this felt so real.
All right, so she needed to find out what had happened and where she was so she could get back to Lucretia. Without her presence, no doubt Tullius would do something horrible again. And she'd promised Lucretia she'd handle him. Drawing in a breath, Gaia spotted what looked to be a path off to her left. Using her free hand to hold the skirt of her long emerald gown, she walked over to it, keeping her eyes open for anyone else. Surely someone would be able to give her the answers she desperately needed. When she reached the path, she looked up and down it, but found it empty.
"Jupiter's fucking cock, where is everyone?" Now she was getting a little agitated. Then again, who wouldn't be when they suddenly and unexplainably found themselves in a place they shouldn't be in? Spying what seemed to be a road, she head in that direction, making her way through the park she was obviously in. She'd never seen a park quite like this, it was far too plain to be called Roman. But when she got near the road, a car went speeding buy, causing her to jump back in surprise. Stepping on to the sidewalk, she looked down the road after it, and saw others like it, both moving and parked. Deep confusion crossed her face. What were those contraptions? And how did those giant torches function without fire burning in them to illuminate the night?
So Gaia did the only thing she could think of in that moment. She took a long drink of wine from the golden cup she held in her hand. Then from her cleavage, she pulled out a round bottle no larger than two inches in diameter. She took the top off of it and tapped some of the contents into her wine. Replacing the cap, she returned the bottle to her cleavage. If she wasn't yet high to hallucinate this, she damned well was going to be because this made absolutely no sense. She gently swirled the wine in the glass, allowing the opium to mix with the liquid before she consumed it. Glancing up and down the street, she truly had no idea where to go or what to do. And she'd be damned if she stayed right where she was. She wasn't a common whore, she did have standards!
