The disbelieve in Ron's eyes didn't go unnoticed by Rikki, although she made no acknowledgement of it. If he was going to let it go, that was good. The last thing she wanted was for him to keep pushing. She'd showed him more than she should've already, as it was. Ron went on to mention a charm that she thought she vaguely remembered reading Hermione performing on Harry before a match in one book or another. Giving him a sympathetic and sad smile, Rikki shook his head. "That wouldn't be enough," she sighed. "Thanks though. It was a cool idea but technically, I'm a Muggle. I shouldn't be allowed to play, anyway."
She noticed, too, the way Ron looked back at the door before seeming to decide not to leave at the last moment. Part of her wondered why, since this particular meeting in person didn't seem to be going very well. But, she could swim later; she'd enjoy the company for now. Besides, he looked as though he might actually be leaning toward letting her show him the evaporation trick.
Giving Ron a wearied look before grinning, Rikki shook her head. "I wouldn't hurt you, Ron, God," she laughed. "I can count my friends here on one hand. You're one of them, so...why would I? Poor life decision if I did," she pointed out as Ron sat down beside her and dipped his hand into the pool. "Of course not," she clarified. "By sting, I mean if it hurts or burns then you're a big baby," she teased.
Rikki held out a hand to take his wrist. "Here," she said. "Don't get me wet," she warned, a flicker of fear playing across her features before she could wipe it clean and replace it with a playful smirk. "Promise it won't hurt."
