Making a door violently painful for any who dared lay hand on it because of a secret she had all pent up inside here was her idea of a reflex? Ron didn't know if he wanted to see anymore 'reflexes' of hers; from where he was standing, they seemed to stand a little more than on the dangerous side. He had been on the verge of replying to her with that very thought, but he caught himself. Rikki was already on edge enough as it were. If he didn't want to drive her off in a rage, he needed to watch it. With another shrug, Ron jammed his fingers into the front pockets of his jeans and stood before Rikki, looking entirely confused.
Complicated. That was all he was getting, wasn't it? Sounded bloody complicated, all right. Rikki was making it complicated. If she didn't want to get into it after a little pushing, Ron wasn't going to go out of his mind at her about it all. He was curious, yeah, but if it was that big a deal to her to keep it all hush-hush, then she wasn't going to budge up on it. Which meant that there really would be no use for him to keep prying.
"If you say so," Ron said, blue eyes shooting her a disbelieving sort of look before they re-focused on the pool water.
She didn't like getting wet. Well, that wasn't too unusual of a thing, was it? Plenty of people didn't like getting wet. "There's a charm," he offered, tearing his attention away from the water. "It can be used to keep the rain and snow out of your eyes. Other than that, the only sort of magic allowed on the field would just be your broom. Everything else is illegal, so you wouldn't be giving much of an advantage to anyone, really." Not that it mattered. It sounded like the water had put her off playing, which was rubbish. Ron wanted as many people in on Quidditch as possible.
Ron eased up a bit at her smile. "I reckon you would've known what you were doing." Maybe. Hopefully. Ron really didn't want to think about what would have happened if she had gone in and tried to pop him out if she hadn't.
She wanted to show him what she would've done. Ron frowned and looked to the door. He could've up and left, no problem. She'd put the option out there. But it seemed like maybe she wanted to prove to him that she could've handled the bubble too. She was nice enough, even though Ron had been a little put off at first. It probably wouldn't have been all too great of him if he turned around and wandered off on her now, would it? She'd let him in on a big secret of hers. The least he could do was make her feel less off about it.
Even if that meant possibly getting burned up again just because he wanted to mind his manners.
Hands sliding from his pockets, Ron walked over to the edge of the water and settled down beside Rikki with an uncertain smile. "I hope by sting, you don't mean it burns horribly," he said sarcastically, leaning forward to dip his palm into the pool water. There. He was staying. Nice, see?
