At the sound of a voice, Rikki's head snapped up, eyes wide. She was pretty sure she recognized him as the new guy she'd been giving shit for eating all the sweet snacks in the complex kitchen. "Do I look okay?" she asked, frustrated. It occurred to her the second she said it that, if she wanted his help, she could probably catch more flies with honey. "Sorry," she added hastily.
This was awkward. That kid couldn't be any more than fifteen, although her bet would be closer to twelve. He wouldn't be much help. Rikki rolled onto her back again and propped herself up on her elbows, looking up at him. "You're Percy, right? Cookie-hogging new guy?" she asked, a tiny smirk sliding over her lips in spite of herself. "Think you can drag me inside? I'm kinda heavy," she replied, nodding down at the tail and wishing for the millionth time that she'd just asked Galen to meet her after work, just in case.
"I have to get out of the rain; I gotta dry off, y'follow?" she asked, arching her eyebrows in question as she looked back at him. Then, just in case he didn't, Rikki tacked on, "...before anybody else sees me...?" At that she cocked her eyebrows suggestively, attempting to convey the urgency of her request. It was bad enough that Galen knew, but she was getting used to that. He helped her. Adding into that another person she knew next to nothing about left Rikki unhappy at best and downright annoyed at worst. So much for keeping it a secret...
