When Galen leapt into the air, striking as he sailed over her, Mara made a note of it, parrying his attack. She then spun on her heel to face him once again. Just judging by that one move, he could possibly be a candidate to learn the Ataru form. But she would need to test him further, see if he had what it took to learn the style. She could tell it was a possibility, just from how he embraced the Force to enhance his movements.
As soon as she'd spun around to face Galen, she smirked a bit, assuming a stance of her own. It was the opening stance of Ataru, a balanced two-handed guard, her lightsaber completely vertical, both hands gripping the hilt. She then used the Force and she charged forward at heightened speed. But before she reached Galen, she somersaulted to his left, once her feet got planted on the ground again, she leapt into the air, flipping over Galen and lashing out with three successive quick blows. She then landed on the other side of him, rolled and came to a halt in a crouch position, her emerald eyes watching him closely. She could easily keep up the blinding attacks and force him into a defensive stance, but she decided to try quick strikes first to see how he reacted and what he would counter with.
Oh this was going to be more promising than she thought it would be at first. This would definitely yield promising outcomes, regardless of how this duel went. Mara was keeping her lightsaber in check though, she didn't want to move it quicker than Galen could counter and cause him injury on accident. This was an exercise, not a fight to the death. It wouldn't be too difficult to keep that in mind, though. She was used to training with apprentices, and she knew when to hold back on the full range of ability she had at her disposal.
