It was in that precise moment that Mara truly lamented not having any ships or other vehicles to pilot. She missed her ship, she missed her StealthX. Mara missed being able to fly wherever she wanted to go whenever she wanted to go. It was going to be horrid being stuck on this one planet for prolonged periods of time. The redheaded Jedi was one who had wanderlust. She'd never completely fallen out of it until after Ben was born, but even then she had periods of it. No doubt it would come back full force here where she couldn't go anywhere she wanted and she didn't have Luke or Ben to occupy her. Neither did she have the Jedi Academy. She did, however, have her family members and other Force users here, but they wouldn't be enough to quench the wanderlust that was deeply seeded within her. Whether this was a side effect of her days as an Emperor's Hand and the freedom Palpatine had given her in that role, or whether it came from her own nature remained unseen.
As Galen said he hadn't really held a blaster before, that got Mara's interest. And solidified a task for him. "After the duel, I can show you my blaster." It was currently strapped to her hip, mostly concealed by her shirt.
Mara watched closely as Galen took his stance, then rushed her. So he used the Force to boost his speed, perhaps this was a sign she could teach him the Ataru style, but she would need more than that to justify doing so. The switched grip in mid-swing was interesting, but Mara brought her lightsaber up, defending herself, a hiss emanating from the two lightsabers as they collided. Putting her weight behind her lightsaber, she pushed from left to right, enabling her to safely spin away from Galen, turn and face him. She then struck, bringing her blade down from right to left, quickly switching the position of her feet to give her a wider, more stable balance. She wasn't tapping into the Force yet to aide her, she was relying on her basic fighting techniques. But soon enough she would undoubtedly tap into her Ataru fighting, but she would let that be a surprise when she sprung it.
