Hearing the throat clearing, Batman felt like a fool. Jason had pulled one over on him. He turned and stared at his former Robin as he held the gun on him. He listened to what Jason said and shook his head. "Jason..." he sighed. It was the same song and dance that they always did. He pulled his cowl off and looked at the younger man.
"I won't kill Jason. Maybe it is your path. I don't believe it. But I know it isn't mine. I'm not going to become a killer. People can be redeemed if given a chance. But regardless we have no right to take a life. We aren't judge, jury and executioner." He looked pleadingly at Jason and was grateful neither Dick or Damian were here. He didn't want them involved in this.
"But something tells me you won't let me go until you tell me your side so, go ahead."
