Chris had to believe her. He just had to. Mel really didn't see any other option, actually. He was a Halliwell, he had to be used to the strange, even in whatever...time or whatever he was from. Weirder things had happened. Mel couldn't help but lift her eyebrow at his words. Wyatt was but wasn't his brother? What the hell was wrong with him? "What do you mean he isn't but is? You and Wyatt gang up on me all the time." She really needed to figure out what he was talking about. Why didn't he know about her? Why was he acting all weird when she mentioned their brother? None of it particularly made any sense to her at the moment.
Rolling her eyes, the brunette grinned at her brother. "Prudence, but everybody calls me Mel. It's my middle name." She definitely didn't like to be called by her actual name. Prudence was....a wonderful name, for Aunt Prue. She'd never really gone by her first name, actually. She probably never would. Here it was even more convenient to call her by the name she preferred because of her aunt.
The fact that Chris was here was a happy thing, sort of. Or Mel was happy at least. She probably shouldn't have been, in all honesty. This wasn't exactly the easiest place to be, but having another familiar face around was definitely nice. It made her feel a little bit better about losing Patrick. Man, he'd never believe her when she told him about her son that she'd met from the future. Or...maybe he would actually. Stranger things had happened? Hadn't he and Wyatt gone to the past at times? She was pretty sure they had, actually.
Mel barely held back the wince at the fact that he really didn't want to buy into the fact that their dead aunt was here. "I know it sounds crazy, but she is. She was here before me, actually. I told you, the dead can be brought here." Mel could prove the fact that their aunt was alive. "I can prove it, actually. The boards, you can filter to her and she'll answer. And if not that I can take you to see her." Either way, Mel was pretty damn sure that Chris and Prue should meet. They'd have to. They were all family. "Actually, she's engaged here. To a guy named Damien." Maybe that was a little bit more information than he needed in this exact moment, but the filter in her brain seemed to be on flood mode.
Brown eyes watched as Chris ticked off the things that she'd told him, nodding a little bit. There was a whole lot he should know, actually. "I'm married? And the whitelighter abilities aren't natural. I was the only one that didn't have them. Dad wasn't a whitelighter or Elder when I was...well, y'know." Okay maybe that was splitting hairs, but whatever. "And there's a complex that you can stay at for free now that you're here. You'll need an amulet for protection against demons. They're much different here. You can't vanquish them. They have to be exorcised if you want to save the person they're possessing." Wow, Mel finally realized how much she was talking.
"I know it's a lot, I'm sorry." Okay, she couldn't help it. She did probably the most awkward thing since seeing him now. She gave him a hug. After she pulled back, Mel moved to stand, offering him her hand. "I'll show you the complex, we can start getting you settled in a little bit and try to work on the confusion?"
