Someone called his name and Chris looked blearily in the direction of the speaker. It wasn't a familiar voice, but he was grateful to see someone concerned over him. Though that meant just one more person to add to the list of people who were about to be upset that he'd died.
"There's nothing you can do," he said quietly, same as he'd just told Leo. "It won't work. It's... Only he can..." He was fading pretty fast. Had his dad sent the girl? Maybe. He'd been going for Paige or Phoebe. And then he'd get Gideon. He'd save Wyatt. God, he had to. If he didn't, if they were too late, it would all be pointless. All of this, all the sacrifices, everything he'd fought so hard for.
At least he'd had one more chance to see his mom. And his dad loved him, he knew that, now. He wasn't just the 'other son' anymore. That was okay, right? He'd be okay with dying. Really. If only he knew that Wyatt was safe.
The girl knelt over him, and he had to pause for a second. She looked a lot like Piper. So much so that between the blood loss and the pulling across dimensions, he almost reached up to hug her, and probably would have if he weren't so weak. It didn't matter. Gideon's magic had done this, and only Gideon's magic could reverse it. He was going to die.
But maybe it was the new dimension or maybe it was just that Mel wasn't involved in any of the events that had led to the attack, but he felt the familiar warmth take hold. And his body began to slowly but surely repair itself. He was still weak and in a hell of a lot of pain, but it was getting easier to bare. And he could think.
