It didn't hurt anymore. That was a good thing. Oh, sure, he was going to die. But he didn't hurt. And who knew? Maybe he'd at least succeeded in what he'd come back in time to do. That was important, wasn't it? He had to. It was the only thing he'd set himself out to do and it had to be done. So if nothing else, he at least had that. And his dad. How could he be too upset when it was his dad telling him goodbye? After everything he'd dealt with, he had Leo back. That's all he could ask for, really.

But then he felt a breeze. That...wasn't right. Who would open the window of a dying man? That was just wrong. And it was kind of chilly. And a little wet. What the hell? He was outside. And still bleeding profusely. Lovely. He was going to die for the whole world to see? And how had he even gotten there? Not cool. "Dad?" he called weakly, knowing he'd be heard even if it was merely a whisper. Whitelighters were kind of awesome that way. "Paige?" Anyone? He wasn't dumb. He knew there was no way he was going to be orbing himself anywhere at all. Not in his current condition.
