Damian was insistent. When he wanted something enough, he was going to try to get it until he hit a brick wall. His stubbornness was unrelenting and he couldn't imagine turning his back on this, couldn't imagine letting it go and hoping that this version of his father would go back to wherever he'd come from sooner rather than later. Maybe he would go back, and maybe he'd never see him again, and maybe another Bruce Wayne would appear in his place, with all of his morals where they belonged. If that was destined to happen, then so be it. But while things were like this, while his father was changed and following Jason's path, Damian would do whatever he could to open his eyes back up.
It seemed that Dick had had enough, and he could understand that. Damian was new and he'd only been dealing with this problem for two days. Enough time hadn't passed for him to feel worn down by it all. His perspective was fresh and he was unwounded and undaunted by the task that he had set out before him.
He was both angry and concerned enough to risk his own safety to meet a father who hadn't even known he'd existed three days ago. Damian was a little shit and a brat in too many ways to count, but he was devoted enough to make up for half if not most of his faults.
His favorite brother was recovering from a fight with a man who Damian hated, and it was clear that he was fed up and tired. So he was taking it upon himself to step in and do something that needed to be done. Damian liked to think that Dick approved of what he was about to do, that he didn't think this was a terrible idea. He wanted more than anything to be right.
And if he wasn't right? If this was wrong? Then he'd give his father, his lost, misguided father, what he probably deserved.
But he didn't want to have to do that. To be perfectly honest, he wasn't even sure if he could do that.
Damian came to him in broad daylight, and was reassured by the light streaming in through the windows. His steps were quick and even and he sat down opposite of his father without saying a word.
